Spent the day in Pittsburgh with my friend.
the-sentimentalist:
We took a bus to Oakland in the morning and were supposed to sit in on a History of Jazz class at Pitt. As it turns out, the class was rescheduled for tomorrow without our knowledge so we didn’t get to go. We spent a few hours in Oakland instead, while we waited for his mom to get off work. We walked through the Heinz Cathedral, and looking up at the beautiful stained glass windows was the most surreal thing. I recognized a lot of the names and pictures that were on the glass (thank you, AP US history!)
Also, I went in the Carnegie Library for the first time ever! I could live there and be happy, it was so nice. I love that “One good thing a day” project that they have there. I picked up one of those little books and I wanna do it. :3 I also found some nerdfighters had taken over the “Tell us what the library means to you” sheet that was hanging up.

It’s kind of light so if you can’t read it, it says: “DFTBA” “not forgetting to be awesome” “Whoever you are, I ♥ you! DFTBA!”
Also here is the full sheet (my favorite comment is the people watching one because omg I do that):

Then we went to a bookstore and I picked up a copy of Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger. Even though I had a nice time, I don’t think I would want to go to Pitt. City living is just not for me (holy goddamn traffic, I almost got run over like twice) and the housing there didn’t seem very nice, at least from the outside. I didn’t get a tour or anything.
Today was a pretty nice day, though. :)
Welcome to Pittsburgh! :)
